I'm buying a used car, so how much should I put for a down payment?

I am 22 years old and plan to buy my first car in the next week or two. My grandpa is going to cosign for me since I have no credit. I have $1,000 set aside for a down payment and plan to purchase a vehicle around $10,000. I want to keep my monthly payments under $200. So I guess what I'm asking is: Is a $1,000 down payment good enough for buying a used car? Is it too much, or too less? I'm just looking for advice and suggestions. Thanks!

Well, I am not in any way a professional on cars, or buying stuff, or anything, but...

Doing research on google that seems to be about right.

Well, I don't have the idea about that but I may help you from where I purchase a used car from https://hiveel.com/ Buying a new car is the best thing that you can do, you may know that you get a great feeling when you buy yourself a new car.
