Can a school change a course mid way through a school year?

I am currently sitting my Alevels, Art and English Literature. In art I had an entire unit partly done, when a teacher came back from break and changed the unit. My class and I, who had worked very hard all year had a few months to do a years worth of work. Are they aloud to do that? Now with moderation coming up I'm extremely unhappy with my work because it doesn't look half as good as I could have made it look with the full time for a unit.

Yes I would think they can . I mean who decides if a student loses interest mid way. Surely you wouldn't want to write exams for courses you don't want to do. And if you do do them and are not comfortable with what you wrote down , there are professionals to call upon on such cases. They can help with database access and alteration. Minor and major ones.
