Can I get a refund from my insurance company?

I purchased a second hand motorcycle last year on 12/09/16, I received the new keepers supplement from the previous owner however he kept the log book with the promise that he would send it to the DVLA. My insurance decided that I had a crash in December 2016 that I wasn't involved in and have been to inspect my vehicle and found no damage, they stated that my bike was not in a crash but is also not in my name and I have falsely insured it, if this is the case and I prove my innocence with the new keepers doc, would I be entitled to a refund due to the fact they insured me for 12 months and wouldn't have paid out if I crashed?
