Do I need a lawyer to form an LLC?

I am starting a small business - a music rehearsal studio. I will be the sole owner and employee, at least at first. I would like to form an LLC and my lawyer has told me that it will cost $1200 for the filing and legal fees. Do I need to do it through him, or can I use a cheaper service such as legalzoom?

If you are fulfilling all the legal requirements that are needed for your business either from a highly charged lawyer or from low charged lawyer, it does not matter.
