Why cant people that love each other be toghter

I really loved a girl alot , I really loved her more then anything but my family ruined everything on purpose coz they didnt liked her and always Forced me to engagement with someone else, now they forcing me to marry so
E one and saying that if you wont marry we will tell girls parents and relatives about us too and we been meeting secretly with out there knowledge for her reputation I said marry but ever day passes and I feeel its not done the right way. Why we were being sperated coz we love each other. Our parents have ruined our happiness :( we both have given up on our degress and jobs and she is more depress then me :(
