Leaving my best friend

I have to leave my best friend for a year. I'm a senior and next year we plan on going to college. However, due to a bad year I had, I think its best for me to do a year in a community college in another state. My friend and I planned on going to college at the same school. Since I have to go to a community college for a year and then transfer into the school we planned on going to, i'll be reconnecting with him probably sophomore year of college. It's going to hurt. Hurt a lot. The guy is literally my brother. We speak to each other without restriction. Long distance friendships were never really our thing but I dont know what to do. I'm a guy and every time I think about leaving him, since he's like my brother, I cry and I feel the pain in my chest. I don't know what I'm feeling and I don't know what to do.

Its natural for you to be sad. Long distance and separation really stings. But, you can try to stay connected while you're apart. Thanks to technology, its a lot easier nowadays.

You guys can text, Skype, call, Face Time, ECT. You can also schedule to meet up on weekends.

I'm so sorry that you are going to be separated and that this is so hard for you. I sincerely wish you the best.
