the basics: water(although you should be well hydrated prior to starting because if you drink water during yoga it will be harder to get into postures with a full belly), a mat and a towel to place over it and a hair tie to keep hair out of your face. you don't need all those other fancy things that are advertised because it's your own body that should be doing all the work . unless you have a teacher or go to a studio to practice then yes a video to follow along works.
