Trouble shoot car not starting, 2004 chrysler pacifica

Car died while driving, would turn over at first then heard rapid clicking. Took 3yr old battery for testing, they said it was almost at 12v but they put it on a charger. Hooked up fully charged battery, car now turns over many times, sounds like it may start but never does. 2 days go by, try to start car, just clicking sounds again. All lights etc work. One battery cable looks like many wires smashed together and taped. Turn key to on & hear fuel pump humming. Engine lights been on for a while not sure the cause of that.
