MRI Scan of ankle - Can someone please translate what it means in layman's terms

The ankle joint shows diffuse loss of joint space. In the posterolateral aspect of the talus, there is an approximately 10mm x 17mm area of diffuse subchondral T2 hyper intensity present likely related to overlying high grade chondral wear/denudation. There is underlying broadbased subchondral talar bump. Peri articular small subchondral osteophytes are seen.
