Upgrading from a Nikon d80 DSLR, which Nikon camera should I buy ( that will fit a 50-500 lens )?

A friend of mine has a Nikon D80 DSLR camera, But is looking to upgrade to a newer model from NIKON.

It will have to be a Nikon DSLR that is compatible with a 50-500 lens.
Not sure on the budget yet.
