What would I need to become an assistant site manager for a property development company?

I have always wanted to get into property development and have taken the first steps to gain some experience in the industry. I have been working as a senior estate agent for the last 3 years now and wish to progress further. If I wanted to become an assistant site manager, what qualifications would I need and whats your best advice to go about it from my current job role?
