Is it safe to wear g strings for a 17 year old girl?

Me and my friends are going for a beach vacation this summer. We are planning to get a spray tan done. I have read that the best clothes to wear for tanning sessions are bikinis with g string bottoms as they leave no tan lines. I recently stumbled upon http://www.dollboxx.com.au/collections/g-strings which has g strings available online. Should I buy them online? Is it safe for a 17 year old girl?
