How to tell when a man is wanting to change a fwb relationship to something more?

I am in a fwb relationship and I don't want to change it but the guy I am with has started calling/texting me everyday several times a day and not just about hooking up. He has started taking me out to eat and shopping the whole time opening doors and never letting me pay for anything. When we started this fwb relationship I told him the only way I could do it is for us to keep our personal lives just that personal but here lately he has started sharing his personal life with me and is every disappointed and hurt when I will not do the same. So am I reading more into it than I should or it he wanting more than a fwb relationship
