What can I expect at my boyfriends first court appearance?

My boyfriend is 22 years old. He is currently in jail. Tonight was his 5th night there. In 4 days he has his first court appearance. His charges are vandalism, burglary, aggravated burglary, and theft of prop $1000-$9999. This is his first offense. Id really like to know what to expect. We have a 4 month old son and id really like him out for Christmas... also he is in a county jail and on 23 hour lockdown. He said that it means he's in a cell for 23 hours a day. He gets one hour to shower and call people of he wants. What could that mean?
