Spouse of irish citizen visa requirement?

i am irish citizen studying on full time course and maried to non-EEA citizen. I am 19 and I saw that if you want your application to be approved you shouldn't be on social welfare for 2 years and you should have 40 000 income over 3 years. I have sent all relevant documentation even church ceremony certificate and legal marrage certificate as well pluss I proved relashionship history and everything is grand in that way its just I was wondering because I am student on ful time course would they still ask me to have 40 000 income over 3 years? and also my age 3 years ago I was only 16-17 .
