Explain the causes of contact angle of hysteresis, giving reference to the values below?

I got the following values of C/A of hysteresis for treated and untreated PP.
1. Treated PP-C/A of hysteresis= 49.7
2. Untreated PP-C/A of hysteresis= 12.0
I observed that there is a difference and I’m suspecting that it has something to do with types of interaction forces that exist at the surfaces of the liquid and these two solids solids.
What kind of information does the degree of hysteresis tell?
