There is no extra water added to short black coffee, except the water needed to brew the coffee. It's simply an espresso shot. Irish coffee is the cocktail of coffee, Irish Whiskey, and sugar and ristretto is a less strong shot of espresso. It needs the same amount of coffee but it's more diluted and finely ground than espresso.
