Womens Health Question. Cervical discharge help please.

I am due for my period today. But the past couple of days I have had a clear sticky/egg white discharge. ( I thought to be ovulation). Today it has a little tinge of color to it. Brown/Orangish but very much clear. Is this still ovulation? If so why would I be ovulating when my period is due. What else could it be?
