I really want a dog!

I've always been an animal lover but the thing is a lot of people will get a dog because they're cute ---- which is true-----but I think the reason why Id like a dog is because they're kinda like a friend always loyal and playing with you depending from breed to breed... If you treat them the right way :) But I know I cant get one because many dogs live there long while and hopefully I'll be leaving for uni in 4 years (including 6th form) and its likely I don't want to leave a dog behind... Guys what should I do, should I just wait till after Uni ?

I think it's better if you wait till after your uni, but if you really want to play with a dog and have one near you, you could foster one for awhile, not only will it help the dog, you will gain experience in keeping a dog so when you do get a dog after uni, you will know what to do and what not to. :P
