Actually, if you've ever synced your iPhone with iTunes, you'll have a backup file generated by iTunes on your computer. Then you can use iOS Data Recovery (Mac) or iOS Data Recovery (Windows) to retrieve your water damaged iPhone data. Both of them can help to extract your iTunes backup and recover all data from it. But how to do if you don't have a backup on iTunes? Don't worried! iOS Data Recovery still can directly scan your iPhone and recover data directly from it, as long as you can get into the device's scanning mode. The program currently supports iPhone 5/4S/4/3GS, iPod touch 5/4, iPad mini, iPad with Retina display, The new iPad and iPad 2/1.

If you have a iTunes backup file, you can recover your data by extracting from iTunes backup file without your iPhone, and you may need an iPhone backup extractor to help: http://www.iphone-text-messages-extractor.com/

The common tools are iCloud and iTunes, but using the two tools require you to back up the iPhone data in advance. If you have not made any backup, try an ios data recovery tool like TunesKit iPhone Data Recovery to restore whatever you want quickly.
