I need someone's advice on a tough decision

Hi I'm jacob
And I have started year 7 and I straight away fell in love with a girl In year 9
She visits my HOMEROOM to make announcements and feel like she's a nice girl and I feel like I wanna get to know her but she's always with her friends and I'm not sure if I should try
Not just that she's also 2 years older than me which I feel like would weird her out
I know this a really lame question but I really need someone's opinion on this cause I have no one to talk to.

Talk to her it might be a little weird but even start being her friend.:)
