Should I buy him a gift for valentines day?

I just started seeing a guy about three weeks ago. I reall like him and he says he really likes me. He's focusing on school at the moment so he's not looking for a relationship. However, wants to be "mutually exclusive." So basically he wants all the perks of being in a relationship without having the label. By the time Valentines day comes around we'll be dating but not dating for a month and a half. Should I get him anything for this lovey dovey holiday?
