Peugeot 307 cc won't start help needed plz

lets start with the car it's a 2004 307cc 2.0l 16v petrol (130bhp or there abouts) only 53k on the clock
the car had got wet in side over xmas, so the other day I got a lend of a wet vec.
took the car to get fuel (30mins of a drive) got home and parked the car on the drive and left the engine running(normal temp and normal idle).
went to get the vac out to start cleaning the car, as I started to vac it out, the engine cut out and I have not been able to start it since. it did not have any warning lights come on and I am unable to find the cause.
I have checked the following the timing belt-it is fine, oil and water-both are fine, checked all the fuses and they are all fine, checked the coil pack for speak and all 4spark plugs get a spark, the cat has had the rotten egg smell in the past so I also checked to see if there was any presser at the tail pipe when it is cranked, and it has. the only thing that I have not checked is the crank position sensor, but as far as I know that would not have caused the engine to cut out. and the car has NO fault codes. I have the car booked in with a mec but they cant take it to the middle of next week.
also since I took the battery out to try an other one in it the car has went in to eco mode and I cant get the windows to go up. and it wont come out of eco mode till I get the engine started.
I really am thinking about selling her as a non runner
any help would be great thanks.
