Will this lose fat pretty quickly?

Ok well i'm 5'8, and weigh about 180 pounds. I really want to be at 150-160 in like 6months or lower. So I was thinking of running everyday for 30mins in the morning, and at the evening. Then do like cardio workout every saturday, then letting my body rest on sundays. Soo will this help me lost the fat and get more tone and such? Plus it would be helpful if anyone tell me, what kind of workout's I can do for abs and cardio?
