I cant connect my printer to my macbook

everytime I go to system preferences>print & scan and press the + sign, I can see my printer but it always says "The software for this printer is currently unavailable. Please contact the printer’s manufacturer for the latest software."

Try visiting the website of your printer (ie. Canon, HP etc ... ) & installing an updated driver. Just search the model of your printer. They should be free.
