How do I know when the statute of limitations is up on a credit card?

I know the SOL for my state is 7 years, and it's already been 9 years. But how do I find out the exact date it began? I've heard that any contact with the creditor reopens the debt cycle, so I can't ask the creditor. I'm trying to figure out officially when the 7 years started.

A credit card transaction should be a written contract. It varies by state. Here's a list:

Again, this is not useful to me. I am trying to find out when it started, which is something only the creditor or some governing body would know. I was trying to figure out the name of that body or agency.
