How to become a developer from from production support in it?

Hi...currently am working in LnT infotech,joined as a fresher and assigned to a support project though trained in JAVA....
Can some one please help me....is there any possibilties for me to move to development its already 6months gone.
Am very much interested in coding and am confidence that I can code well even now.
