How do you remove casing for timing chain removal on a 99 Chevy cavalier 2.2 liter 4 cylinder motor.

Open the coil pack housing and check the actual coils. There are two separate coils controlling two plugs each. Very common to be a coil on these engines. The timing is a chain, to check this u must remove valve cover, crankshaft pulley, tensioner pulley and possibly some other odds and ends, then pull timing chain cover off.
