Kosher rules?

So apparently some families keep silverware for dairy separate from silverware for meat...but what if what you're eating is neither dairy nor meat? I heard you just use the dairy silverware, is this true?

I have no idea but don't really see the point of separating silverware... lol they must be so rich... anyway just a side comment fruits are better for health than meat and dairy... I just like telling people that because no one tells you in school but its essential to know that...
