Costume ideas? Please help

I'm in a musical production in my school called The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. I'm in the ensemble and the director wants me to dress like a 10 year old girl. I have no idea what to wear. I can't wear a dress or skirt because I jump around and dance alot. I really need an idea as to what I should buy. My friend in the show is wearing a plaid shirt and capris, I don't know what I should wear though. Thanks
