While for profit businesses are profit oriented, they also need to consider and envision the social responsibility they owe to society, community and the world. This author would be inclined to define social responsibility as the theory which imposes upon individuals, groups, and firms, both big and small (since CSR is independent of firm size) to work in such a manner that could offer the best benefits to society.
