How do I bleed the clutch in a VW golf 2001

my clutch is pressed to the floor and is not working right , what do I do other than get a cable for the clutch

Well it sounds like it may be a bit more complicated. If it is hydraulic clutch and the cable to slave cylinder is good, then make sure there is plenty of fluid in resovoir. Bleed it just like brakes, have someone pump clutch and hold it down then open bleeder screw on slave cylinder. Sounds more like your clutch needs to be replaced though. Hope that helps
