Can a keyboard map in mainframe application be automated and be used in the same application?

hi,
one of my friend designed a keyboard map in one of the mainframe application.I got the idea of automating the keyboard map.
Their is a function for every key we press after applying the keyboard map.can we capitalize all the functions of the keys and turn them into a macro(keyboard map).So when I click the key it starts the macro and when I click the key it stops the macro. If so please give how can I write the file.

I don't do javascript but any programming language will have a keypress event that identifies which key was pressed. Once you have identified which key, just call the function associated with that key. Create a boolean array that tracks the state of that function like:
----If FunctionState(keyCode) = True
-------TurnFunctionOff(KeyCode)
-------FunctionState(KeyCode) = False
----Else
-------TurnFunctionOn(KeyCode)
-------FunctionState(KeyCode) = True

Google "javascript keypress event" for examples of the syntax for the key press event in Java.
