Read down to vs 36. These scriptures emphasize the importance of forgiveness. God forgives us everyday for the many sins we commit, knowingly and unknowingly. Such sin are enormous like the 10,000 talents in the parable. That being the case surely we should be forgiving to those who may sin against us like the 100 denarii.

If you read through verse 26 & 27 you will see that the servant asked the king for patience and promised to pay him back. Then the king had mercy on him and simply forgave the debt. The servant is you and I, the king is God. The debt we owe is for sin and God having mercy on us forgives us when we ask Him to.
