I feel terribly guilty about my mother

my mom and I got into a fight yesterday, the worst fight we've ever gotten into- I consider my mom to be pretty lenient and a bit of a pushover.. but after I challenged her authority she finally snapped and dropped me off on the street and told me to walk home.

after this I was so infuriated that I called the police and asked them if this was child abuse and reported what happened. they said no and that they couldnt deal with it. later she called me and felt sorry and spent an hour looking for me.

i confessed to calling the police on her and she was very upset.. I keep thinking what would've happened if she had actually been arrested, or if I had been taken away. I feel terribly guilty about this and I don't know what to do.

Your mom feels as bad about as you do. You should apologize to her. Just say, "I'm sorry Mom" and give her a hug.

Hopefully it's far in the future but the time will come in your life when you will no longer have a mom. When that happens, you will regret every minute you wasted arguing and fighting with her. Learn to settle your differences with a logical discussion. Until you become an adult, accept her judgement and move on. Life is too short to do battle with your parents.
