Why did it make political sense to select Thomas Jeff,Ben Frank and John Adams to write the D of I?

The Continental Congress appointed Jefferson to the committee to produce the Declaration. The committee asked Jefferson to write a draft since he had written the Virginia Declaration of Rights and a draft of the Virginia Constitution. The members of the committee had all been active in the movement for independence in their own parts of the country so it provided diverse inputs representative of all of the colonies.
