Why flooding is more likely to occur in urban areas than wooded rural areas¿

Asked May 24, 2012
Because the ground is covered with materials that are impervious to water. Roofs, concrete and asphalt don't absorb water like a woodland so it builds up in much greater amounts and has no where to go.
