Deactivating an e-mail address

I cancelled my account with a local provider in Nov. 2011 but kept the e-mail address. I then got a virus affecting all my contacts. I can't get access into the old account to change the password and the provider wants $49.00 for tech support to fix. Is there another way to disable the e-mail address?

This same question was answered for you yesterday. Send the old account emails with a huge video attachment until it rejects one. That will overfill the Inbox past the limit and kick new emails back to the sender.
