Research Ethics importance in business

Why is research ethics important in business? Another thing; can anyone describe the rights and obligations of the participant, researcher, and research sponsor?

Someone please explain. Thank you.

Ethics are important in all research, not just business. The sponsor should accept the results whether or not they support their agendas. The researcher should do the study by accepted methods and standards. Participants should be willing to follow the directions without adding bias to the result.

They are important for business because dummied-up research can destroy the image of the business and destroy confidence in their products.
