Why is candy corn orange, yellow, and white?

According to the Wiki article below, the first person that made it in 1880 was trying to make it look like kernels of real corn.

Good question! I never thought about dat ha... Maybe it just looks better for Halloween( orange being a Halloween color?)

Many variants on corn have a kernel with an orange husk. Mostly not found these days in grocery stores.

Just Google "corn on the cob cross section" and you'll find pictures of it.

I believe I used the wrong word. It's not the husk but the part of the plant the kernel sits in.
