There are many things that will make a computer, "freeze up." The first step is to determine whether the problem is hardware or software. If you do a cold boot, load the game and go through the exact same steps and it freezes at the same point in the program every time, that's a software problem. If it only does it on one program, that's another vote for software.

If it does it randomly on more than one program, it's most likely hardware. If it never does it until it's been running for a while, that sounds like a heat issue. Take the cover off and see if dust is clogging the fans or the heat sink on top of the microprocessor.

If you have a second monitor, try it to make sure it's not just the display that's freezing.

If the problem is the computer, the key is WHEN it freezes. Sometimes it takes a while to get it to repeat enough to get a handle on when. If you can provide more info on that, comment below this to let us know what's going on.
