What makes you want to answer

to all of you people who go around answering the questions people ask I just want to know what causes you to want to help them so much?
its awesome that you do but I just want to know why you do

My wife thinks I have a job so I have to get up and go somewhere every morning. :-)

Seriously, I have a very boring but necessary job. More than 99 percent of the time there's nothing to do but I have to be here to react that one percent of the time when everything hits the fan. I used to watch TV but got fed up with listening to talking heads and commercials so I looked for something else to do. Ehelp keeps me awake and makes me feel like I'm doing something productive.

In my case I usually answer them if they take my interests or if I think that I can really help them; others do it for the same reasons, to be amusing or just to recieve the satisfaction of helping a stranger. It makes people feel good.

For me I answer questions that intrigue me or ones that I believe I can actually help them with my experiences. Like Sexy2011 said it makes people feel good to know that they could help someone.

I was taught from an early age that it is my responsibility to care for and serve others. This is a small way that I can try to do that throughout the day. I answer if I think it's possible to help. I think this site gives many opportunities to try to get better at being attuned to others' needs, fears, etc. so I can learn to be more useful to others.

Like skyDancer said, it was how I was taught. To put others first and care for them even if it's a complete stranger. From little to now, i've put my experience into work and help others to make sure they don't make the same mistake I made. It is also the feeling of satisfaction that keeps me motivated to answer questions. It might also be a help to them.

just seeing some one that neds help makes me want help

This world needs more people wanting to help others - it's a great thing.
