What are three reason exclusivity is valuable in business world

Asked Nov 28, 2010
Exclusivity is valuable to producers because it's easier to market their product down the supply chain and allows them to maintain their prices by limiting the supply of the product on the market. It's also valuable to their mid-level distributors because they have no competition on that brand.

At the retail level, it doesn't work as well unless the product has a dominant brand identification because competing brands will undercut the price. In products where price is part of the buying decision, competition rules.
