Why does my screen go black shortly after loggin in to Windows?

I boot up my laptop, log in to Windows, and as my desktop is loading this is a small popping/releasing sound and simultaneously my screen will goes black I have a Dell Inspirion 1525 and I've had it for like 2 years or so. It just recently strated doing this like 2 days ago. Today I got upset and threw it into my closet. I retrieved it, unplugged everything that was in the USB ports, and took out the power cord; it hasn't shut off yet. Can anybody explain to me what is happening to my laptop?

Well first of all, that could be a lot of things, the most likely one being a blown capacitor. Throwing your computer was just stupid though and as such you deserve to have it not work anymore. Anyways, you totalled your laptop at this point. Just get it fixed, or get a new one.
