I dont know how to use or find the right thing to work my Emachine E627 built in webcam, help?

I have an Emachine E627 with windows 7 but I can't find out how to work my webcam so I can't take pictures and chat with my family from different states, which I really want to because I haven't seen them in forever but anyway, I really need to find out how to work it. do I need to get a special software or install it from online...?

Well if you want to chat with your friends using it, you will need to download and install (and make accounts for) at least one instant messenger. I suggest Skype because it runs well and works on both mac and pc. Same with Yahoo. MSN for mac doesn't support webcams, neither sending nor receiving, and aim just has so many issues, it never allows webcams when it should, and it's always slow and choppy and pixelated. There are a couple of other options, but those are the biggest ones. As for taking pictures, just open My Computer and you should see the webcam listed there. Double click on it and it will display in the window what the webcam is seeing, and there is a button on the left "Take a Picture" to take a picture.
