Can a Hiatal Hernia repair itself?

I was diagnosed with a Hiatus Hernia over 15yrs ago and three years ago I had a Endoscopy to make sure it wasn't leaking. I have had another Endoscopy and the Specialist said he can't find it and that it's repaired itself. Is this possible because I have all the symptoms still and it is getting worse as the medication isn't helping.

Well, here I am having had a veeery large Hiatus Herrnia in the 80s and now, last weeck endoscopy, is absolutely clear, and the "ulcer"... bye, bye.
I atribute the "miracle" to the fact that I have been taking "Oxigen" drops.
My Mega Colon has also become normal size. :)
