What the difference between a 5.4 and 4.6 engine

would a 5.4 ford engine bolt up to where a 4.6 engine came from

the 5.4 sohc motor produces about 295 hp. the 4.6l sohc produces around 260hp. im sure you can change out the motors but the motor mounts will very likley be different. Also you will probably need to change out the ECM in the vehicle so it will read the new motor correctly. newer motors and electronics area big pain in the but. If you simplely want more horse power stick to the lighter 4.6L Put a 70mm t-body with a 75mm mass-air senisor. 225cc heads upper and lower intake I suggest the bread box. cold air intake and bbk un-equial length headers,and an x-pipe with flow master or magnaflow mufflers. this should put you up to around 340 to 350 hp Good Luck
