What motivates people to answer questions on answers site?

Well I do it because for a long time people kept suggesting I spread my knowledge for a long time. I'm not saying I'm some super genius, I'm saying that I have a very wide range of knowledge. I know abut automechanics, banking, computer programming, sound engineering, graphic design, etc... the list goes on for miles. I thought about Yahoo Answers, and Wiki Answers, but they're way too overcrowded. I used to spend a lot of time on Help.com, but that site is no longer maintained, and the mods are all on huge power trips and it's all kinda lame. When I found this site, it hadn't been started that long ago (still less than a year old) and the founder of the site was very nice, supportive, and quick on the shot (in terms of responding to inquiries, and fixing mistakes on the site), and I just kinda like the vibe here. So I go about answering what I can. I guess the most direct answer to your question is, I do it because I have too much time on my hands, haha.
