How long does a torn knee ligament last?

When i was at work my knee went in and i fell. Ever since that happen i have been having pain in me knee. I have no medical insurance to go to the doctor and since its been almost a year i dont think my job would pay for it since i didnt finish the physical therapy. Now i have the same pain in my other knee and dont know what to do because sometimes the pain is unbearable. How long does a torn ligament last and is that what i really have wrong with my knee

The pain will continue for the rest of your life unless you get surgery on it. You probably have scar tissue in your knee which will only get worse with time.

You can tear your acl (which is the commonly torn ligament) and there wouldn't necessarily be much pain long term. Unbearable pain is probably something else. You need an x-ray or mri to get it diagnosed.

When you tear your acl it camt be joined and when I hurt my knee the were talking about my acl they said it a bit like pasta if you grab a pieace of pasta snap it now it can't be joined togther without gluing or stickey tape. So when you tear your acl u need surgery or it will last your whole life when you have surgery you get crutches and all that stuff getting health insurance is worth it comparied to the pain you will go through
