Why was upper egypt to the south and the lower egypt to the north

the nile river flows north into the mediteranian sea in the middle of the change is a delta witch is where alot of the flooding is. i also think it was discovered first

It's because the Nile river flows south to north instead of north to south and empties into the Mediterranean at the delta. so ancient Egyptians believed that south was up before they connected to the rest of the world.
